A Little Bit of a Story
When you hold an Alhambra Guitar in your arms, you hold all of that. When one of my students showed up with an 8-P E2 model electric-acoustic, the first thing that struck me was the beauty of the instrument. Perfect craftsmanship and beautiful woods make this instrument one of the most impressive I have seen.

I called Alhambra and wanted to try the high-end concert models. The good news was: they were to be at the Summer NAMM Show where I went, anxious and excited.

Here they are!
Imagine a huge booth with dozens of amazing guitars exposed! All the guitars I have seen on their website, where I spent hours and hours, were there. My attraction led me to the Luthier Rio Model. I had looked at this guitar for hours on the internet and would finally played one!

Then started the love story with the best guitars I have ever played. This is the love I want to share with you. And the passion too!

Alhambra is committed to the preservation of the environment whilst going about its daily tasks.

It is not a matter of image but a need for survival as our main raw material is wood and our future depends on the sustainability of the world’s resources.

Wood suppliers. All our wood suppliers are companies with a proven track record with most of them committed to reforestation. Depending on the origin of the woods every supplier abides by set rules. For instance our Indian Rosewood is obtained through public government auctions and the trunks are then cut up at source. Another example is our Ebony supplier who must contribute annually a percentage of his turnover to the government who then allocates it for reforestation.

How to minimize the waste and optimize the best use of woods. We always try to take full advantage of the options available for the maximum usage of the wood we buy. For that reason, our policy is present in several points:

• Regulations in these countries insist that the wood is cut to specification before it is exported thus ensuring the country’s own promotion and development.
• As we have a wide range of models, this makes possible to classify the woods in accordance with their qualities.
• Suction System. The manufacturing of briquettes is a by-product. This is where the surplus wood and dust is condensed into cylindrical pieces and is often used by bakers for their ovens or in Alhambra’s case as a form of central heating during the winter.
• Supplying craftsman. Sometimes we supply fine pieces of wood (ebony, Indian rosewood etc) to craftsman.

The soundboard – major influence on the guitar’s sound – consists of a thin piece of softwood that is supported by 7 braces like the Iberia.

The important qualities of such woods include a close grain count and high stiffness to mass ratio (allows maximum output for the minimum input), resilience, light weight and resonance.

The new model is called “Línea Professional” and its construction has been made thinking of all those professionals and students who play the guitar many hours diary.

The most important features are: a new neck’s design which provides better playability and comfort and we have also added the same bracing pattern of the Luthier models. We must say that we have chosen the best woods in order to make this new model and we think it will be a good option for both professional and students.

The Línea Profesional model can be made of solid Spruce or Cedar top and the back and side are made of solid Indian Rosewood.These guitars have a very similar sound and construction to the Luthier India and Rio and are assembled and finished by the master luthiers, Javier Mengual and José Margarít.  The neck profile is slightly thinner, so they have a bit of an easier feel to them than do the other luthier models.

We do not yet have stock on these guitars, but do have a shipment on the way and will have stock soon.  The demand for these worldwide has been very great, so the supply is limited.  If you’d like to reserve one or more, please let me know.  We have three in spruce and two in cedar on their way to us.
